As they walk tightropes over the Italian Alps, these self-proclaimed ‘Slackers’ have strong stomachs. The ‘highliners’ meet as part of The Highline Meeting Festival, high above the Alps in beautiful Monte Piana, as part of a festival for like-minded Adrenaline addicts.

Those who attend this strange event refer to themselves as “slackers” since they spend their time hanging out on slacklines. All of the other more usual items you’d find at other events are available at the festival, including a bar, food options, musical jam sessions, and yoga courses — fairly regular, right?
Hanging around in hammocks isn’t enough for some festivalgoers! Some campers brave the high ropes course with some stomach-churning tightrope walking while their fellow campers look on in awe. You must admit that those views are nothing to sneeze at and are beautiful.

The mountain beauty area was formerly a combat zone during World War I. Hundreds of young soldiers died, so it’s easy to see why the festival’s creators intended to instill a much lighter feel in the selected location.
On the festival website, the founders write this-
‘We recognized this mountain as an ideal location for high lining and decided to revitalize this old site freshly.’ Soldiers of our generation slaughtered each other here, and sadness, hatred, and terror ruled their lives.’
This group has a strong love and respect for the mountains, and we can understand why with those breathtaking vistas!
